Board of Directors
This is Amanda's third year on the SEF Board, previously serving as Executive Vice President and Secretary. She has a son in 8th grade and a daughter in 6th grade at Redwood Middle. Amanda has served as PTA President and School Site Council President at Saratoga Elementary, and is a current member of the Redwood PTA Board. In addition to her volunteer work, she has worked as teacher, librarian and reading specialist.
Dr. Chandra Khan is an established biomedical researcher, educator, and seasoned mentor who is servng as the Associate Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs at California State University, East Bay. Through various academic positions held, she has contributed to student and faculty development in California by educating, mentoring, and fundraising through grant seeking. Dr. Khan serves as a core partner in the Bay Area K-16 Collaborative, which is focused on connecting and transforming K-16 pathways through an equity-centered regional network. She looks forward to bringing her knowledge including best practices to serve the SUSD community.
Vandana is the VP Fundraising on the SEF board this year. She has been an active parent volunteer at Redwood since 2018 when her family relocated from India. She is mother to a junior at Saratoga High and an eighth grader at Redwood Middle. She served as VP Memberships Redwood PTA (2019-2021) before coming to the SEF board as Redwood Site Rep for 2021-22. This year, she is committed to support SEF’s mission to raise the funds to provide enrichment programs to SUSD schools through family and business donations.
Vandana enjoys theatre, spending time outdoors and exploring cultural history through food and travel.
Jai is an experienced Regulatory Affairs Professional in the medical devices industry and a computer science engineer. She has been an active parent volunteer at the elementary school since 2016, SEF board member since 2021, Redwood Middle School PTA board member and Neighborhood Safety Captain. Being on the SEF board, she enjoys working and interacting with the SUSD schools and community to provide a balanced combination of academic, enrichment and social-emotional learning for the kids.
Ram is serving his second year at SEF as VP of IT. He looks forward to making a lasting impact in our childrens' education through community funded SEF programs. He has a sophomore at Saratoga High School and a 5th grader at Saratoga Elementary School. Ram is an active volunteer at the schools and is also a Saratoga Little League board member. He enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
Sneha is the Treasurer for SEF, and this is her second year serving on the board. She has been volunteering in the Saratoga school community for the past 12 years, ever since her daughter, who is now a senior in college, was in the 5th grade. Sneha's older son is a junior in high school, and her youngest is in elementary school at Saratoga Elementary School. She loves to volunteer in the elementary and high school to connect with the students and provide them opportunities to grow through the SEF and PTA sponsored programs. She pursues singing Indian classical carnatic music and also plays an Indian stringed instrument called veena.
REBECCA YU & JUNE WANG
Alejandra recently joined SEF and is very excited to collaborate with the rest of the board members towards improving the quality of education in our beloved Saratoga School District. In the last 4 years, she has enjoyed being an active parent volunteering at Argonaut and Foothill elementary schools. Alejandra holds a degree in Business Administration and has a 20+ year experience performing business and financial planning and analysis across financial, retail and technology industries. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding – which she is passionate about – and spending time with her family in Lake Tahoe.
Sandeep joined the SEF board in response to an outreach email by the past Argonaut site rep and am glad to have joined and learned what SEF. This year, he want other parents to learn more about SEF and what SEF members are doing for kids enrichment. Balaji encourages parents to join the meetings even if they are not members .
He has a 5th grader at Argonaut Elementary.
Balaji joins the SEF board as the Argonaut Site representative this year. He has been in the district for the past 6 years - his daughter is entering Redwood Middle School this year and his son is starting Kindergarten at Argonaut. As a strong believer in the mission and goals of SEF, his goal is to ensure that SEF thrives and grows in the coming years. Balaji believes that SEF funded programs are vital for all the children in the community and this year, he wants all district parents to learn more about SEF and help SEF meet its funding goals.
Balaji loves the outdoors - climbing/hiking, biking and running.
Vidya Andleigh is the site representative for Foothill Elementary. She has three children in the Saratoga Union District. Her older daughter will be entering 5th grade and boy/girl twins entering 2nd grade. She is currently PTA Financial Secretary for Foothill Elementary, and has been an active volunteer at Foothill for several years. Prior to having her twins, Vidya worked in the retail industry in planning, inventory management and supply chain. Vidya holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
