Your employer can double and even triple your donation to Saratoga Education Foundation in support of our kids and their education. If you volunteer with us, your employer may also provide us with a grant as a way to recognize your ongoing support. SEF welcomes new volunteers!

What are employee matching gift programs?

Employee matching gift programs are corporate giving programs in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible nonprofit organizations. It's an easy way to double or even triple your contribution to SEF!

What are volunteer grant programs?

Volunteer grant programs are corporate giving programs in which companies provide monetary donations to organizations where employees volunteer regularly. If you volunteer with us, it's an easy way to provide SEF and therefore our schools with additional financial support.

How do I request a matching gift or volunteer grant?

Requesting a matching gift or volunteer grant is normally a five minute process which must be initiated by the donor/volunteer. You can do this by filling out and submitting a paper match form provided by your employer or through an electronic submission.

I made a donation through my employers’ employee giving platform so why haven't I received a tax receipt for my donation from SEF?

SEF is responsible for providing tax receipts to donors that make a donation directly to our organization via check. If you donate online using our 3D Cart or PayPal portal you should receive an email soon after donating directly from 3D Cart or PayPal. Tax receipts for donations made through your employer’s employee giving platform must be provided by that organization (i.e. YourCause, Benevity, etc). Please contact them directly.

Can I get a tax receipt for the corporate match?

The short answer is no as the corporate match is a donation made by your employer not you.

I made a donation to SEF via a personal check that had only my name on it. Why will my spouse’s employer giving program not provide a corporate match?

There are many variations in the way employee matching gift programs are run, and the rules are often very particular for each company. For example, some employers require that donations must be donated with the employee’s name on it. Some employers require donations to made through their platform (instead of via personal check). For some you must apply for the match within 60 days with a receipt, and for others you can match only one donation to one organization in a single year. We encourage you to check your employer’s employee matching gift program before making your donation in order to maximize the impact you can make with your corporate match.

What if I still have questions?
